Curtain Design

Does anyone have a copy of The Curtain Design Directory by Merrick and Day that they would consider selling? The book is packed with line drawings for window treatments. Very many cheers.

I lack every design gene possible. To save money I am going to try and make curtain
for our sliding glass door and livingroom windows. My problem is I have no clue what type of fabric will be best. We want to get rid of a much draft as we can and keep these really simple.

I thought a burlap with a backing on the back might work but I wasn’t sure.

We live in a rented house so, don”t want to buy costly furninshings. Please help, we just moved to bangalore and don”t have any clue!

I am pondering the idea of making a shower curtain. Does anyone know what is the best type of fabric to use for this?

Mine is a silky red Moroccan drape with golden fringes on the outside, and a normal red shower backing
on the inside.

My daughter is gorgeous, but shopping for clothes for her is so incredibally stressful. Everything she would like to wear is either too tight and leaves her overflowing or of course the other option makes her look like she is draped in “Leftover Shower Curtain Material.” I would love to see a line of quailty clothing, directed at the 16 Plus and above group, that is trendy, fashionable, and truly designed to fit. If 75% of this country is truly overweight…why doesn”t some young designer capatilize on it???? Please serious reply”s only…it is what it is .

my room is purple with a white stripe going around the room in the middle. But im thinkin about adding teal or lime green to the room. I want to make my own comforter purple, white and teal or lime green. How should i make it? i also want to design the curtain
and bedskirt the same way.

mayb stripes or polka dots?

i am an interior design open learning student and am looking to gain experience and get my foot in the door, so to speak!! i am one year in of a three/four year course

I live in an apartment in los angeles. My bedroom in specific is always a blazing inferno in the afternoons due to the direct sunlight pouring through the closed miniblinds of my windows. I have installed a portable air conditioner in the room, but because the venting hose has to connect vertically to the window, I can only bring the mini blinds down halfway, allowing even more sun in than before.

What I need to do is remove the miniblinds and install curtain to block the sun. I”ve been looking at curtain
designed to block out the sun called blackout thermal curtain. However, they advertise that they “Keep heat in”, which is the opposite of what I want to do. Would the inverse also apply that they would maintain the cooler temperatures when the air conditioner is running? I would assume so, but I always like to ask first before making an uneducated purchase.
